We moved here in April of 2002 when we bought our first sailboat. Neither of us had ever been to Beaufort (pronounced Bow-furt) before, but since we've lived here, we have grown to really love it here. Living on the boat has been great. Kate and I both love being out on the water and in the weather, and since we're docked right on Front St., we're right in the middle of the downtown area. As a result, we're within walking distance to everywhere we need to go, and many days go that we don't drive anywhere. The people here are truly kind, and we've met lots of new friends. If you ever get a chance to visit, you'll definitely enjoy your trip to the Southern Outer Banks of North Carolina. Beaufort is the third oldest town in North Carolina and is home to over 100 Historic Homes that exhibit plaques with their date and family of origin, all are members of the Beaufort Historical Society.
